Identifying Moving Problems

2 Things That Can Help You Move With Kids

Moving isn't ever all that fun. When you add in kids, it's even harder. You love your kids dearly, but trying to manage to get everything organized, packed, and set up while trying to keep your kids from totally losing it can make you feel like you want to sit down and cry with your kids. However, it doesn't have to be like that. There are things that you can do that will help you and will help your kids.

Pack a Care Package

You may think of a care package as something that you send to someone who lives far away from you, but you can set up the same kind of thing for your kid. This package would include things that your child will need currently as well as things they will need as soon as you get to your new home. This can be things like a favorite blanket or stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons, a couple favorite toys, and some clean clothes. Put everything in a backpack or other bag or basket because it will make it easier for you to make sure that it doesn't get packed up and for you to transport it as necessary. An older tween or teen may not need a care package in the same way, but make sure that they have their own bag filled with stuff that will help them.

Arrange for Childcare

It may be easier for you to pack and load and unload a truck or have a moving company come in and do it for you if your kids aren't around. Arrange with friends or family to take care of your kids at their house. That way your kids are able to be somewhere safe while you work on having everything under control at your house. If you have movers coming, they will appreciate not having to work with little ones underfoot or getting stressed out. If you have a long-distance move and you don't know anyone on the other end of the move, you may want to ask a friend or family member if they would like to come with you to help with your child when you are trying to get everything taken care of at the other end.
